RPL resources are for training organisations conducting recognition of prior learning. They help structure the evidence conversation and assessment process for a candidate’s existing skills and knowledge.
Explain the evidence pathway
Help the candidate understand the unit requirements and the types of evidence that may be relevant. Use a structured conversation to identify experience, available records and areas that require further investigation.
Plan the assessment
Review the supplied tools, assessor guidance and mapping. Determine what evidence is sufficient for the assessment process, including any interview, observation or supplementary tasks your assessor requires.
Record the decision and next steps
Document the evidence reviewed and the assessor’s decision through your organisation’s process. Where gaps remain, explain the additional evidence or training pathway to the candidate.
